1. Controller and scope
The operator identified below is responsible for personal data processed through FrigAI. Use the privacy contact for questions and rights requests. This policy covers the application and its account, inventory and AI features.
2. Data we process
Data may include your name, email, password hash, account and verification records, language and currency preferences, food inventory, purchases, prices, usage history, saved recipes, messages to the assistant, submitted photos and receipts. Requests also expose technical data such as IP address, browser information and session/security records. Avoid uploading identity documents, card details or unnecessary personal or sensitive information; crop receipts and photos where possible.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Account management, storage, recognition and requested AI features support provision of the service and performance of the agreement. Security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting serve legitimate interests, subject to applicable safeguards. Legal recordkeeping is based on legal obligations. Where consent is required for optional processing, it will be requested separately and may be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
4. Providers and international processing
Hosting, database and email providers process data needed to operate the service. AI recognition and assistant requests use Pollinations and its model infrastructure; submitted images, messages and relevant food context may be sent for processing. Recipe/image features may contact Spoonacular, image-search providers and external image hosts. Automatic country detection contacts ipapi.co, which receives the request IP address; currency rates use ExchangeRate-API. Providers and linked sites may process data under their own policies. Processing may occur outside your country; where legally required, applicable adequacy decisions or appropriate transfer safeguards must cover transfers. Ask the operator for the current recipients, locations and safeguards.
5. Browser storage
The application uses a session cookie for sign-in and browser storage for preferences such as language, currency and theme, plus cached country detection and application state where used. Country detection is approximate, not GPS tracking. Clearing browser storage does not by itself delete server-side account data. This policy does not grant consent to advertising or optional tracking.
6. Retention and security
Account and inventory records are kept while needed to provide the account. Following a verified deletion request, data is deleted or anonymized unless retention is necessary for legal duties, security or claims. Backups and provider systems may retain copies until their applicable retention cycles expire. Exact retention periods and provider arrangements must be confirmed with the operator. Passwords are hashed and access is controlled, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights and children
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing, withdraw consent and complain to a competent data-protection authority. Send requests to the privacy contact; proportionate identity verification may be needed. Statutory response periods apply, including generally one month under the GDPR, with permitted extensions. The service is not intended for children below the age at which valid authorization is required under local law without that authorization. Contact us if a child has submitted data without it.
8. Updates
Material changes will be communicated where required. The date above identifies the current version. New uses requiring consent will not be authorized merely by updating this policy.
9. Payment data
When payment acceptance is enabled through ACBA Bank, card details will be entered on the bank’s hosted payment page rather than in FrigAI. The service will process transaction identifiers, amount, currency, status, access period and, if authorized and supported, a bank payment token for renewals. Full card numbers and card security codes must not be sent to support. Payment processing is necessary to perform a paid contract and comply with legal obligations; the bank also processes data under its own privacy rules.
